TRIAL #1

This trial is only for 'New to Redbacks' boys in the U14, U16 and U18 age groups. (New to Redbacks = boys in these age groups who did not play WABL or State Champs for Perth Redbacks in 2020.)

• All girls - both current Redbacks and new to Redbacks

• All U14, U16 and U18 boys who played WABL or State Champs for Perth Redbacks in 2020 PLUS those players invited to attend from TRIAL #1.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR ALL PARENTS

• The 2021 Perth Redbacks WABL trials are 'open trials' which means both current Redbacks players and players who are new to Redbacks are invited to trial for the spots on offer.
• These trials are likely to be the most competitive in our history. Several age groups in the men's program are expected to have 80+ players trying out for 40 spots.
• Previously being selected in a 2020 Perth Redbacks WABL team does not guarantee selection in a 2021 Perth Redbacks WABL team.
• Being selected in a 2020 Perth Redbacks State Champs team does not guarantee selection in a 2021 Perth Redbacks WABL team, or selection into the same team/division.
• Final selections will be based on observations and data collected:
  • During the 2020 WABL season
  • During the 2020 State Champs tournament
  • At the 2021 WABL Trials sessions
• While the 2021 WABL coaches will have significant input into the selections, responsibility for the final selections lies with WABL Heads of Selection Craig Allen (women) and CJ Jackson (men).
• Parents may seek feedback from Craig or CJ about their own child's selection/non-selection. Parents may not seek selection feedback about other players.
