Our U14 Division 4 Girls finished their season third on the ladder with a 10-4 record and had to do it the hard way to get to the Grand Final.
First up was an Elimination Final against the Perry Lakes Hawks. This game was a consistent effort that saw them slowly but surely build a game-winning lead over the course of the game to take out victory 54-31.
Next was the semi-final where they found themselves playing the Joondalup Wolves. That too was a consistent affair where they methodically built their lead over the course of the game to record an excellent 49-35 victory.
On to the Grand Final and they found themselves playing the South West Slammers who’d gone the whole season undefeated. And that’s how the Slammers’ season would end – undefeated.
Our girls fought hard and kept the margin tight for most of the first half, but the Slammers slowly pulled away in the second half to win 62-44.
It was still a wonderful effort from the girls, their coach Zac Belton and assistant Alex Stevenson to get to the Grand Final. We are so proud of them.
