The Web Ready program is our domestic development program designed to bridge the gap between our foundation program, Aussie Hoops, and joining a domestic basketball team. This is a pathway program to encourage entry into playing basketball in a team environment.
It aims to graduate Aussie Hoops athletes into a program that places more emphasis on gameplay integration rather than skill development. The program introduces athletes to real-game situations, helping them build confidence, decision-making skills, and a deeper understanding of rules and team dynamics.
Through structured drills, modified games, and guided scrimmages, players learn essential basketball skills—such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defence—in a game-like context. This approach encourages active learning, improves court awareness, and fosters a love for the game by making sessions engaging and competitive.
Ideal for players aged 8-12, the program strikes a balance between skill development and fun, fast-paced gameplay, ensuring each athlete is well-prepared for future team environments and competitive opportunities.
We will be running both boys’ and girls’ sessions; however, please note that if we don’t receive the required numbers, we may need to merge the two. Also, please note that registration in this program guarantees you a spot in our next domestic season to incorporate your gameplay skills in a team environment.
- The 2025 Term 3 program has 8 sessions running between 26/07 and 13/09.
- Sessions will be run at Loftus Rec Centre on Saturday Mornings (7:15am – 8:05am)
