Congratulations to club legend Joel Wagner, who earlier today at our WABL Breakfast at Optus Stadium was presented with PBA Life Membership.
Since starting his journey playing Domestic basketball at Vic Park, moving through Redbacks WABL teams from Under 12 and on to playing over 350 games (and counting) for our SBL Men’s team, it goes without saying that Joel epitomises Redbacks basketball on the court. As a player, Joel is the all-time assists leader in SBL history, a Championship player with the Redbacks and is a multiple-time SBL All-Star player.
However, Joel has also performed many roles off the court to help build our club. From working as our Development Officer to helping build the Loftus Domestic program, still coaching teams there. He has also coached WABL teams, was instrumental in developing our schools program and growing our Aussie Hoops program and much more.
Joel has also represented the Redbacks at the highest levels with NBL stints at the Wildcats & Sydney Kings and continues to be an outstanding leader at all levels of our great club.
