The Texture WA Perth Redbacks Men’s team has added former Stirling Senators young-gun Jayden Coburn for 2019.
Coburn has spent the past two seasons on the Senators SBL roster and was attracted to the Redbacks’ strong emphasis on the development of young athletes.
In just over 50 SBL games Coburn averages 7.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.4 rebounds and will form a key part of the Redbacks guard rotation in 2019.
Coburn joins Redbacks with a long history or representing WA at Under 16, 18 and 20 nationals where he regularly put in strong tournaments over four national appearances.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity I have been given by Coach Lackovic and the Perth Redbacks!!” said Coburn.
“A lot of thought has gone into this decision to move clubs, but I am very excited for the challenges that lay ahead of me with my playing career at the Redbacks.”
The Redbacks Men’s program has been busy over the past few weeks, with the younger brigade of players hitting the court for four sessions under the direction of Head Coach Nik Lackovic.
The team is now taking a break and will ramp up 2019 preparations in January.
Further player announcements will continue over the coming weeks.
