- The girls played their strongest defensive game yet—right from the first whistle to the final buzzer, every single player gave it their all on the court. Their hustle, focus, and determination on defence were outstanding and made a huge difference throughout the game.
- What made the performance even better was the energy coming from the bench. The support, encouragement, and positive vibes from the sideline kept the team motivated and lifted everyone’s spirits, even in the cold conditions on Sunday.
- It was a true team effort, both on and off the court, and it showed in the way they played together. So proud of how far they’ve come!
- Anya was an absolute force on Sunday—a fierce warrior on the court who brought intensity, aggression, and non-stop effort both on and off the ball. She played like a true demon, never backing down and setting the tone for the team with her fearless presence.
- Zoe stepped up massively, showing real strength and control while bringing the ball up the court under pressure. Her defence was relentless, forcing turnovers and putting the opposition on the back foot repeatedly.
- And then we had the dynamic duo—Caitlyn and Erin—who were a sight to behold. Their chemistry on the court was undeniable. Not only did they dominate the boards, out-rebounding everyone on both ends, but they also worked seamlessly together on offence, moving the ball with purpose and creating space for the team to attack.
- It was a performance full of grit, teamwork, and pure hustle—so proud of the way all 10 girls played on Sunday!

- Wow, another surprise comeback by the Eagles! Whilst we led confidently quarter by quarter and comfortably up by 11 points at the 3rd quarter, the Eagles found some unique form in the last period, narrowing the score to just 3 points. However, today was not about what we did, but how we did it! Today on court we looked for each other, talked to each other and worked alongside each other, proving that as individuals we are drops of water, but together we can be a mighty ocean.
- Something amazing happened today in the form of Mabel Parkin. Mabel’s game involvements resulted in positive outcomes, wherein she created numerous turnovers, provided a fierce wall of defence in every corner of the court and topped it off with a number of important baskets.
- Similarly, Katie Cross was back in form today, topping the table with 12 points from leading full-court transitions and hard work in and out of the key, picking up the loose ball.
- River Sikora was also a standout today as a troublesome foe for the Eagles with her swift and unique ability to provide important coverage through easily switching between opposition players.
- Jean Grayson was our quiet achiever today and significant helper by creating her own space on court and feeding her teammates towards our goal of securing that win.

- Despite a low-scoring first half, we had lots of really good shot attempts, and we felt like going into the break down 7-8 that we had control of the game defensively.
- In the third, we broke out and started making shots.
- We executed an ATO off the board to score in the last 2 seconds to be up 21-15 going into the fourth.
- Both teams had a good fourth quarter, but we held our position for a hard-earned win.
- Narayana Daley was consistent on both sides of the ball, controlling the middle third on defence and making plays for others to shoot.
- Ella Jones showed resilience from some missed opportunities in the first half and scored 16 points in the second half.

- What a game, everyone stepped up and played the physical, determined defence that you need to play at this level. We allowed 22 points in the first quarter by way of their 6 of 6, 3-point shooting. Then 6 points in the second, and then only 2 scoring shots in the whole 2nd half with a shutout for the final quarter. What a phenomenal effort, but it was our physicality that was most impressive on the day. We showed that we won’t be pushed around and got on every loose ball all game. Our help defence was outstanding, combined with immense pressure on the ball, and we fought for every rebound. A pleasing effort for this team today.
- Aiden Morgan had at least 10 steals in this game and never stopped applying pressure on the opposition in defence, and his movement with and without the ball on our offensive plays. His passing was fantastic, bringing others into the game.
- Frankie Etter started this game and followed instructions well. His defence was excellent and made his shots when called up to take a shot. Looked really good now back from a broken wrist.
- Elijah Devitt played through lots of pain today when he was corked in the first couple of minutes. His ability to finish most shots was on display today and did not fear attacking the basket while hampered by injury. Finished the game strong and launched a 3-pointer at the end to kill off our opponent.

- The game started slowly, but the boys turned it around in the second quarter, matching it with the Wolves and attacking the basket well. The physicality in the second half rattled the boys, and they struggled to get back into the game. However, the boys did well to keep going and try to get back in the game; despite what the scoreline looked like, they should be proud that they focused on playing their game and not let other factors influence their play.
- Levi Giglia’s defensive pressure forced many stops and turnovers and set the tempo on the defensive end. His playmaking created many opportunities for himself and his teammates. His ability to make the right pass and find open teammates allowed us to space the floor well. Good job, Levi.
- Thomas Stephenson’s defensive presence and intensity are always a major factor for us, forcing stops and being a defensive leader. His strong drives to the basket allowed him to set the tone on how the boys should attack the basket and how aggressive they should be on offence. Well done, Tommy.

Won against Eastern Suns Blue 85-51
Coach comments
- Coming into this game, we knew it was an opportunity to reinforce our standards against a Suns side sitting at the bottom of the ladder. While we expected a strong start, it was the Suns who came out with early energy, jumping to a 6–0 lead. It took us a few minutes to settle, but once Hudson got us going with a basket, the momentum shifted.
- Midway through the first quarter, we lifted our defensive intensity and turned pressure into points. A dominant 15–2 run to close the quarter was driven by Cayden’s relentless defence, Hudson’s assertive scoring, and smart contributions from Jesse, Barnaby, and Quinn. That effort set the tone for what became one of our most complete games this season.
- In the second quarter, we stamped our authority on the game. We attacked the rim, forced turnovers, and played unselfishly. Miles and Baxter provided a strong presence inside, while our defence continued to frustrate the Suns and force mistakes. By halftime, we had taken full control with a 45–27 lead.
- The third quarter was all Redbacks. Hudson continued to attack aggressively, Cayden and Jesse maintained defensive pressure, and Quinn was everywhere, disrupting passes, crashing boards, and pushing the pace. By the end of the third, we had stretched the lead to 64–35.
- In the fourth, we maintained our composure and intensity. Cole and Kasper continued their defensive pressure and worked hard to get out in front fast on transition, and Jesse closed the game with a great scoring stretch. The ball movement was sharp, the energy stayed high, and our defence never let up.
- It was a strong, team-first performance with the final score 85–51. We set the standard early and sustained it across all four quarters. That’s the level of focus and execution we want to take into every game moving forward.
- Cole Jones brought relentless energy on both ends of the floor in one of his most impactful games of the season. His defensive pressure was outstanding, racking up 4 steals and 6 deflections through sheer hustle and smart positioning. Cole constantly disrupted the Suns’ offence and turned defense into fast-break opportunities. On the offensive end, he finished with 6 points, working hard in transition and capitalising on turnovers he helped create. Cole’s intensity set the tone defensively and gave us momentum throughout the game. A gritty, team-first performance built on work rate and effort.
- Jesse Freeman delivered a complete performance, making a major impact at both ends of the court. He finished with 15 points, attacking the basket with confidence and constantly applying scoreboard pressure. Defensively, Jesse was a standout, his relentless pressure led to 6 steals, disrupting the Suns’ offence and sparking transition opportunities. He also dominated the boards with 9 rebounds, often outworking taller opponents and securing possession in key moments. Jesse’s ability to push the ball in transition created flow for the team and kept the opposition on the back foot. A dominant all-round game and one of his best for the season.

- We came out strong in the first quarter, setting the tone early with our full-court pressure and sharp ball movement. This intensity created quality looks in transition and allowed us to control the tempo from the outset.
- East Perth adjusted in the second quarter and managed to claw their way back into the contest. However, we responded in the third quarter, locking in defensively and holding them to just two points.
- In the final quarter, we maintained our defensive intensity to hold off another push from East Perth and secure the win. Our ability to handle physical pressure, protect the ball, and make smart offensive decisions proved key down the stretch.
- Defensively, this was one of our strongest performances of the season. The entire team committed to the game plan and executed with discipline and energy. A true team effort from the girls.
- Saige Deeks delivered her best performance of the season. She was a dominant presence in the paint, blocking shots and pulling down strong rebounds. Saige also stepped up offensively, hitting a three-pointer late in the game to help seal the win.
- Paige Granato set the defensive tone early. Her relentless full-court hustle and calm offensive leadership led to smart decisions and key scoring opportunities.
- Freya Whitehouse was a defensive anchor, consistently disrupting East Perth’s offence and making great reads in help defence to effectively defend the paint.

- Overall, an improvement from when we last played Hawks, but it did come off the rails for two long in Q3.
- We were right in the game and very competitive up until half time, but unfortunately went very flat in Q3 and started to leave our guards a bit stranded in the back court, so long passes were cut off, we bled buckets and we let the Hawks’ momentum kill our mood and mojo. We finally found some fight for the last two and a half minutes, generating stoppages and steals and a quick six comeback points, so we showed that we do have the ability to switch back on.
- Lily Butler was a standout, both at training this week and in the game with really valuable hustle in the keyway, a bag of rebounds and some really hard-fought buckets.
- Alyssa Rulla played great in both directions all game and had good shot selection and some poised attacks to the rim.
- Isla, Winnie, Allegra, Bianca, Elsey had some great defensive moments applying pressure up on the ball and we will lean into that this week.

- A super cold one up in the hills, and we definitely felt it in the first half. A slow start to the game saw us get down by as much as 11 ,and there was not a lot going our way. However, we were able to stay together and get the job done.
- The win came from the fight of our bench players, giving us lots of energy and keeping us in the game. We took over in the 4th quarter out outscoring Hills 13-5 to get the win.
- Rachel Deering had an outstanding game both offensively and defensively. She had amazing energy on defence and played hard on offence to finish with 9 points.
- Stevie Brehaut had her best game of the season, playing super aggressively and being active on defence.

- We were ready from the very beginning in this game, the girls were even already warming up when I got there!
- With most of the team competing at the Winter Classic, we had lots of opportunities to practice more things in game-like scenarios. This helped us immensely for our WABL game on Sunday, as the girls were making really good decisions with more confidence.
- We crashed boards hard and looked for quick, early outlet passes in transition.
- We also did well to run down the court with/in front of our teammates, giving them more options.
- Jade Macpherson ran hard all game, getting into her help positions early and stepping up when needed. Jade continues to be a big voice in our team, supporting the girls and communicating well at both ends of the court.
- Madeleine Marshall ran the hardest I’ve ever seen her go. Maddie went from pulling in big rebounds, to putting up strong shots and everything in between.
- Maeve Whitehouse got the ball moving well and scored us crucial points.
- Annabelle Liu came off a great weekend at the Winter Classic. Whenever Annabelle gets an opportunity, she makes the most of it, and her hard work is paying off as she continues to improve in all areas.

- We faced a well drilled Willeton team, who simply played consistent basketball for much more extended periods than us.
- At 3/4 time we just focused on ball protection and playing unselfish basketball, hopefully the fact that was our best quarter of the game is a message that will resonate with the team.
- Noah Mucjanko personifies team basketball. Noah plays defence as well as anyone in our division – however, it was his willingness to convert steals and rebounds into assists that was most impressive.
- Benji Hayley continued his fine shooting form, hitting three triples in his team-high 11 points. Benji won his selection on the back of his defence and competiveness, to see him as the top 3 point shooter (21 for the season) for the division is testimony to the extra work he puts in.
- Tom Smith really worked hard in this game and had to play a little more as a ball handler because we were short on guards. Another player who put work in over the break, Tom scored 7 from 7 free throws and remains a constant offensive threat. We can see Tom being an influential player at both ends of the floor as we near the conclusion of the season.
- Well done to Leo Burton who played his 50th WABL game for Redbacks in this game. Great achievement!

- In a tough fixture away from home, the boys came out in the first quarter with a mindset to defend and go about our work. The effort with this group is always engaged, and the boys got a deserved win on the back of a successful Winter Carnival.
- The team concepts are starting to click, and with better execution to secure the ball at times and improved finishing, the boys are poised to make the leap and beat anyone in our grade, finishing the season strongly.
- Maz Tepania had his best game of the season. He has a critical role behind the ball and has the confidence to control a defender with his dribble skills and showed maturity to understand when he needed to get his team into its motion actions and attacked lanes within the flow of our offence to get 10 critical points of his own. He is starting to compete for boards to round out his contribution.
- Jeremy Zhu, who is our train-on, got a start on the weekend, which is a reward for his dedication to training. The kid is a natural scorer, a committed defender and continues to show growth in his team concepts.
- Victor Muyna finished some tough shots in the first half and got injured in a contested layup that should have been unsportsmanlike and attempted to play through injury when put out late to show his committment to his team and want to win.
- Shoutout to my little mate JP, who owns the most ridiculous, “How did he do that?” shot of the season. Look forward to seeing it on the vid.

- This was always gonna be the most challenging game of the season as coming up against the top team that haven’t lost all season and at their home court. Started the game out close, competing, but as the game went on, we just couldn’t score or get enough good looks to have the opportunity to put up points.
- James, I thought, fought hard all game and tried his best against much bigger and older opponents. Found some good looks at the basket himself and rebounded well despite the size difference .
- Elliot, I thought, had a great game just with his aggression and want for the ball, especially in the second half, he played with no fear and a lot of confidence, which was really good to see.

- We struggled to come out of the gates for this one. Turnovers were a real problem for us. We had glimpses of good basketball, marked by decisive passing and positive shooting. When we knuckled down, we achieved repeat stops and learnt that when we ran our offence, we scored easy buckets.
- Lottie Ballantine had a great game for us, rebounding well, communicating well and being patient in the offence.

- It’s always a worry coming back from break, wondering if you’re going to lose any momentum. Lucky for us, the Winter Classic helped us stay match fit. We led from start to finish and never really felt threatened. It’s nice to see us be a lot more consistent over 4 quarters, and if we had shot better from the foul line the margin would have been a lot more.
- Alessia Wladyka had a great game. She was more confident and aggressive and made some really big shots.
- Cara Hayes had a great first quarter that set us up with an early lead. Her pick-and-roll game is really coming along. When she’s firing and aggressive, we are always a much better team.

- Everything that we have been working on throughout the season is slowly coming together.
- With a tight game throughout, our second quarter was the best for us.
- Two key factors that helped us offensively for us, moving off the ball, and moving the ball.
- Defensively, we played great team defense. Good rotations
- Everyone throughout the team contributed offensively, from the starters to the bench.
- Macen Ridge had some great impact coming off the bench, scoring around the bucket, and rebounding for us.
- Nate Cass has continued his top form over the last few weeks, finishing with 18 points
- Lastly, Riley Barmentloo, coming off an efficient campaign over east with the WA State U16 team, continued where he left off, finishing with 20 points, and hitting a tough game winner with 0.7 sec left, to seal the game.

- This was a game of adjustments vs execution. Joondalup, in our first match up, played zone the entire time. In this match up, they were shifting their defence from zone to match up to full court trap.
- Our team were able to adjust on the fly and keep things within reach.
- Our execution wasn’t at the level we would like, but our defence and creativity held us even to go into overtime.
- In overtime we hade excellent defensive communication and good execution finishing the game strong with Wolves only getting 2 field goals in overtime.
- Shout out to everyone who spent match up time on a big – Arman, Sebastian, Dylan, Lucas and Erik – they sacrificed their offensive output to work really hard on and off the ball against their bigs an odd match up for us.

- Over the past few weeks, we’ve really started to lose our defensive identity, which has been the DNA of our team since day 1. After a really lazy first half, a good old-fashioned rev up got the boys going, which saw us clawing things back by the end of the third, followed by a dominating 4th to give us a solid win.
- It was a real team effort, but a few individual performances stood out. Christian Cvitan racked up an impressive 9 steals, and Zeke Brian — arguably the smallest player in the league — pulled down 9 rebounds.
- While those numbers were huge, Kobe Peppin and Jordan Ong were key contributors, stepping up to take smart risks when it mattered and stealing the ball mid-court through our renewed defensive pressure on their ball handlers.

Won against Slammers 96-72
Coach comments
- Ready to prove that our Round 1 loss in Bunbury was a fluke, the boys came out with great energy and intensity from the jump. Our emphasis was full-court defensive pressure and rebounding on both ends. While our boys continued their trademark unselfish play, we were generally more aggressive offensively. We outscored our opponents each quarter of play, entered half-time on the right side of a 17-point margin, and finished the game up 24. So proud of the effort this week. If we play up to our potential like we did in this game, we will be a handful for any team we meet in the Finals.
- Jacob Tan led all scorers with 22, followed by Jackson Bailey (14pts) and Eoin Foley (12pts). We had four additional players nearly crack double figures, each scoring 8 points. It was a great team win offensively, with every player getting buckets and contributing on the scoreboard.

- We were significantly understaffed and up against a top team, so we knew this was going to be a challenge for our system and would require people to play in different roles. We didn’t start well, but in the second half, we put together some runs and recaptured some of the competitive style we’ve had of late.
- Lailah Tasker stepped up in the second half and played excellently at both ends. It was great to see her challenge the defence from the perimeter, at the rim and as a floor general.
- Grace Butcher and Ella Welsh stepped up from under-16s and provided essential support to our team this week. They played with a mix of composure and aggression.

- This was a really pleasing game with all players contributing in all aspects of the game. After allowing some early transition baskets, our defence was consistent and disciplined for the rest of the match, with the third quarter particularly pleasing. In offense besides the second quarter, where some players fell into the trap of being a little too aggressive, the players found their pace in offence and made good decisions with some good team basketball that showed how every player on the roster is a threat.
- Willingness of our bigs to sacrifice parts of their game to help space the floor was a good demonstration of team basketball. Application on the boards was also good, taking nearly 50% of our O boards while giving our opponents few second chances. This is something we’ll really want to continue in the weeks ahead.
- Salma Rahmadavi had a great all-around game. Great off the ball, composed with the ball and found her range with a trio of 3s. Her defence was consistent all game, and she cleaned up any rebounds that hit the deck.
- Jess Kerp and Lola Bingwa also showed excellent commitment defensively and an infectious willingness to really chase the ball.
- Indi Ballantine played a near-perfect game. It was great to see her more aggressive on the offensive boards.
- Millie Stancil reads the game really well, which she used to create for both herself and others.

- This week, we faced the Suns in what felt like a grudge match—lots of familiarity between players, which added to the intensity. Despite only having seven available, the return of Ty and Hamza from their U.S. tours made the squad feel whole. Both brought fresh offensive energy, attacking the rim with confidence from the outset.
- We jumped to a fast start and looked strong early. JR was tasked with shadowing their top scorer and did a solid job disrupting his rhythm. Still, we couldn’t build a substantial lead as their interior passing consistently led to easy buckets, and our three-point shots weren’t falling like they usually do. The physicality of the game also made it hard to break away.
- Deegan brought hustle on both ends, giving us key momentum shifts. Mid-game, Gabe and JR switched roles—Gabe found rhythm from the perimeter, while JR did damage inside, crashing the boards and scoring in the paint.
- We entered the fourth with a comfortable 10-point cushion, though the game never felt entirely under control. Even without hitting top gear, we managed a solid win. It wasn’t our most dominant showing, but considering the circumstances, it was a composed performance that got the job done.
