The Perth Redbacks are proud to formally announce Ben Fraser as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer, commencing Wednesday, 22 April.
Ben joins the Redbacks with a distinguished reputation in the local and international sporting landscape, most recently as the Recreation Centre Manager at Lakeside, and previously in operational management roles with the West Ham United Foundation and Football West.
Ben’s appointment signals a continued focus on athlete, coach, and official pathways for the Redbacks. Having previously managed basketball operations at Lakeside, Ben has a proven track record of building sustainable structures that ensure young talent is identified, nurtured, and provided a clear technical pathway to the elite stage. His expertise will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our grassroots community and our high-performance programs.
Beyond his developmental insights, Ben is highly regarded in facility management and stadium operations. His experience managing major recreation hubs ensures the Redbacks will be led by a CEO who understands the complexities of court-space optimisation, infrastructure growth, and the importance of a “home” environment for our members.
Perth Basketball Association President, Anthony Nixon:
“Ben is a rare leadership talent who understands both the ‘business’ and the ‘heart’ of basketball.”
“His expertise in facility management is exactly what we need to navigate our infrastructure growth, but more importantly, he has a proven pedigree in building the pathways that turn domestic juniors into NBL1 stars.
“Under Ben’s leadership, we are ensuring that every member of the Redbacks family, from our athletes to our officials, has a clear road to success.”
Ben will begin his tenure by working through a structured handover to ensure continuity across all Redbacks programs.
We invite the entire Redbacks family, from our junior domestic clubs to our life members, to join us in welcoming Ben to the team.
