- After a slow start by us and a good start by Joondalup, we finished the 1st 4-4.
- We committed to our defence and trusted our teammates in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, taking control by the end of the 3rd 36-16.
- We are starting to really find shape early, get early offence and pass the ball well. Good job ladies.
- Iris Gething had a lot of good looks that she wasn’t able to convert in the first 2 quarters, but we trusted her and encouraged her to keep taking good shots. Iris broke out, scoring 12 points in the 3rd quarter.
- Wanda Power had some very good passes in transition, getting teammates good looks. Whenever we risked a momentum change, Wanda was able to get a score to settle the ship. Known for her defence, the last few games Wanda has shown she can play both sides of the ball.

- Another tough game for our young Redback stars. With two players out, a foul tally of 24 outweighing our score of 14, and two players fouling out, our wonderful girls still pulled plenty of tricks from their bag.
- They demonstrated huge passion and a refusal to give up, showing that we never throw in the towel, we use it to wipe the sweat from our brow and keep on fighting.
- Our girls produced a huge team effort today. Both Ada Gliddon and Jean Grayson were wonderful to watch as they worked cohesively together like ants.
- Ava Horsten was slick as a no-look pass.
- Zara Wong was noticeably as loud as a final siren.
- Tliyah Gordon was unpredictable as rolling dice.
- Matilda Marsland covered the court like a blanket.
- Ruby Rath was passing like a pizza delivery on a scooter.
- Shanaya Siva was a symphony in sneakers.

- After we got out to a big lead early, the Suns clawed back to regain the lead in the 4th quarter as we managed an incredibly high foul count, restricting our minutes.
- We managed to keep our cool, nail clutch free throws, and keep our execution until the end of the game, earning a hard fought win.
- Lachie Stanley should be proud of his effort. As a lot of our regular scorers were in foul trouble, he took over the fourth quarter with multiple and ones and tough layups as well as his signature defense.
- Dougie Butcher stayed calm and made the right decision down the stretch, hitting clutch free throws and keeping us calm.
- Bede Southwell set our tone defensively. He was hounding ball carriers with physicality, effort, and intent and was the spark that ignited our 18-1 run at the start of the game.

- The boys came pumped up after the first match against Rockingham, where we got a black eye and multiple bruises.
- Everyone came ready to go and ready not to lose. We gave Rockingham everything we had and did it as a team.
- At the end of the game, the Rocko coaches complimented us on how much the boys have improved compared to the other teams in our division.
- Riley was Superman, he was everywhere at once!! Defending like a champ, but also scoring like the boss he is.
- Henry was angry, blocking the ball with the intensity that made us think this was the NBA! This man was also passing the ball like the superstar he is, down the court to help get assists.
- Joey got his spark back. After being sick last week, this man bounced back like a bouncy ball! Joey was consistently defending players double his size and doing a phenomenal job at it.

- Very close game all day against a very much improved Hills side, though we were able to stay in front most of the game even until deep in the third quarter, and ended up behind 5 points with 3 minutes to play.
- We were not at our best with nerves high to grab a very meaningful win, but in the final 3 minutes we put a lot of defensive pressure on and dialed up the offense to come out on top.
- Archibald Pohla had a great game, scoring, rebounding, and putting on pressure to force to force easy turnovers out of Hills. Easily one of his best games, keep up the effort Archie.
- Torben Reiss started the match off a bit subdued but found his voice, quite literally, in the second half, as he became more aggressive on defence and active on offence, attempting to pick off passes and moving the ball himself up the floor. When Torben stays confident, he plays very well.

- By far one of our best games this season, the girls came ready from the start and put together a full four quarter performance.
- Our defence caused lots of disruption for the Suns, and the girls’ energy to perform a full court press with only seven players was amazing.
- We moved the ball really well, driving, playing off two feet and kicking it out to an open teammate if they didn’t have a lay up. A team win for sure!
- Olive Bird once again was the standout, her defensive energy and aggression was outstanding. A near triple double 16 points, 11 rebounds and 9 steals plus 7 deflections.
- Kate McKern was strong under the basketball pulling down 12 rebounds, 7 of those offensively rebounds helping herself to 12 points.

- The girls did an amazing job keeping our hands out and playing good help defense. We also have been working on boxing out and with very small opposition, did well to limit second chances.
- Unfortunately, we fell short in overtime but had great contributions by all and had a really great game.
- Zoe did really well, looking after the ball and making great decisions. She got to the line and made the other teams pay by hitting all her free throws!
- Anya did an amazing job forcing ball carriers sideline/baseline in the full court and boxing out at every opportunity.
- Lilly got a number of steals in the back court and really put their guards under pressure.
- Maddy did a great job boxing out, getting after the rebounds and also hit the 3 that took us into overtime!

- We played the top of the table Suns and had our best win of the season.
- We had a hot start after a few slow first quarters in recent weeks and, in what was a great group effort, overcame a 9 point deficit midway through the last quarter to secure the win with some clutch free throws late.
- Noah M was the man of the moment, getting to the line in the final seconds and hitting the game-winner from the line to seal the victory.
- Harry F led all scorers and also hit key FTs late.
- Maz T had a massive game and showed his full array of skills against the best opposition the division has to offer. His work was excellent at both ends of the court, and he would have had season highs in points, assists and boards.
- Lenny H had a season-high in boards and hit some tough shots against an older kid a head taller than him. He was also a leader in the team’s total effort in what was a great win.

- We were low on energy to begin this game, and it showed as we went behind early, but on two occasions we pushed back from 10 points down to level in the last quarter. Our inability to keep our foot down on the gas coming out of timeouts cost us chances to pull away.
- Congratulations to Lance on his 50th game. Everyone fought hard to get him the win, but sadly we couldn’t pull it off.
- Rintaro Haginiwa is seeing the gaps in offence a lot easier now and is finding his way to score a lot more often.
- Elijah Angelo Mancini has strung together some quality games as of late, passing, finding his way to the ring, and grabbing easy steals off his defensive pressure.

- The boys came out strong in the first quarter, moving the ball unselfishly, creating great looks for one another, and finishing tough plays through contact.
- We hit a cold patch shooting in the second quarter and left a few too many gaps in our defense, but I was proud of how the team responded. Instead of letting their heads drop, the boys stayed locked in, kept grinding, and competed hard the rest of the way.
- Jimmy’s work and presence in the paint was a huge factor in keeping us competitive today. He did a fantastic job creating for others with solid screens and smart passes, while continually altering shots on the defensive end. Great work Jim!
- Andre was a strong presence on both ends today – applying great pressure on ball carriers and consistently creating good shots for himself and his teammates.

- A strong game from start to finish, and a huge 49 point turn around from our last encounter (losing by 30, to winning by 19).
- We started really strong with a 13-0 run and then maintained probably our most steady and consistent tempo across 4 quarters.
- Anabella Lewis had a really impressive first half in the front court, chasing down rebounds and loose balls time and time again. It had a really noticeable impact to give the team so many extra second chances to score in offence.
- Harper Grace owned the keyway and claimed over 20 rebounds, while doing a brilliant job of getting swift passes off to our outlets and giving us a lot more open court transition offence this week. She also dropped a cheeky 9 points, with a softer touch at the rim this week.
- Georgiana Clarke held a steady tempo across 4 quarters and cruised to 21 points without forcing anything.
- Paige Granato is impossible to guard, she gets open so easily and kills them with speed! Fast Break queen for 17 points this week.

- We managed to suit up 8 players this week with Ava Kemp from Ash’ team joining us again to add her energy and run and provide a much appreciated break for the team.
- The extra energy made a huge difference, as our defensive pressure was higher, helping to create turnovers, and we managed to get behind the defence in transition offence with extra run and purpose.
- An overall win on the boards, with improved fight for position and effort was important, as some defensive lapses in the second half, alongside periods where our offensive cohesion and skill execution were a little off, allowed our opponents to stay within touch.
- Iris Mairs stood out with her effort and energy. Watching her harass opposition ball carriers and blow past Eagles defenders with her pace is always exciting to watch.
- Isla Cowman was a huge part of our early dominance in the game, with really smart defence helping to cause turnovers and excellent poise on offence to both score herself and create for others. She was also excellent late, instrumental in closing out the game by going 3 from 3 from beyond the arc in the last, finishing with 4 triples for the day.
- We very much appreciated the return of Nora Ostermeyer, with her reliable rebounding and efficient finishing, alongside some great transition offence plays through the dribble and strong outlet passing.

- In another very physical game, our girls did a great job staying confident with the ball, absorbing contact while dribbling and continuing to play their game.
- We were behind for most of the game but always stayed within touch, and the girls did a fantastic job of hanging in there. They eventually took the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a really solid win.
- This was one of Sierra Chrislynne Ong’s best games of the season. She was instrumental in the fourth quarter when we took the lead, coming up with some crucial steals and rebounds. She finished with 6 points, 15 rebounds, 5 deflections, 7 steals and a block.
- Jana Djurasovic was equally as important in the fourth quarter and hit a crucial three late in the game to put us in front. She finished with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 2 deflections, 3 steals and 3 blocks.
- Ava Rahimi was probably our best player in the first half before foul trouble limited her minutes as the game went on. She was extra aggressive on offense, shooting 50% from the field and finishing with 10 points. She also chipped in with 6 rebounds, 2 deflections and 4 steals.

- The boys had a win but it was a tight battle right to the end. It was a game of transition basketball for much of it.
- It’s a joy having players step up to challenge themselves and lock-down players in D. We had multiple defensive assignments and it worked well.
- When we recognise we have no advantage in offence and trigger an action, we had really good open shots.
- When the ball moved through multiple hands at pace, we had well-timed weak-side cuts for easy finishes and perimeter 3s.
- Kruz had one of the defensive assignments and worked hard to deny catches and force his player left and it worked to lock him down.
- Eoin had the other defensive assignment and had to stay light and fast on his feet to stay in front of his fast agile player and executed.
- Leo used timing and space to find great cuts, communicating to receive to catch high and finish high.
- Jo moved the ball with pace in transition, found great pocket passes and was on with his perimeter shots.

- Round 14 saw us up against a spirited East Perth Eagles team for the second time this season.
- Slow starts have been a recurring theme for us in recent weeks, so we were keen to get out of the blocks fast – and we absolutely did just that!
- The girls set the tone early and committed to being ruthless with their defensive pressure, which saw us go on a 10-2 run to start.
- It took a little bit for the Eagles to get going (and we knew they would), but our focus was clear and we knew we could handle anything the Eagles would throw at us.
- The girls at times played with a level of confidence as if they could beat anyone on their day.
- Kaia Rukuata has a way of imposing herself on games at will. She’s a nightmare in the paint, can handle the rock when she needs to and can put it on a dime for her team mates.
- Sara Davis’ defensive prowess was on full display. She earnt herself a starting spot for her efforts in recent weeks and was a big reason for our fast start to the game – dictating terms with her pressure on the ball.
- Gabby Silvester is a bucket with a ball in hand. But it was her work off the ball which was most pleasing. She has a habit of knowing when to hold space vs when to cut and put herself in good positions to score.

- We had a bit of a wake-up call this week. The top two teams battled it out, and it was a good chance to see where we are at. After beating them earlier this season for their only loss this year, I knew they would be motivated to return the favour.
- At the end of the day, they just wanted it more than us. They ran harder, and their backcourt pressure in the first half was impressive. We struggled to handle the pressure.
- Because of the pressure, our structures and spacing fell apart. We are more than capable of being the best team in the competition, and sometimes a tough loss is all that is needed to wake us up.
- Cherie Zak continues her MVP level season. Whether she is starting or coming off the bench, her attitude and mental toughness never changes. It was a tough game and she excelled with an amazing 26 points.
- Cara Hayes showed the real importance that you don’t always need to be a scorer to have a huge impact. Her ability to stick to her role and structures was a highlight. As a trailing big, she is talking and helping out our guards and is very selfless.
- Great job to Halle Griffiths who played her 50th game this week.

- It took a little while to get going, with both teams scoring less in the first 2 minutes.
- Our girls found the wings and some fast-break points to open the game up midway through the first quarter.
- We stayed disciplined for the most part, and the results showed. Some great energy off the bench defensively, with everyone locked in.
- Hannah played well at both ends and had a good defensive game, Olivia was good under the basket, and Blaise got back to her scoring habits, which was good to see.

- The best team effort by the boys this year. The Eastern Suns came to play and were extremely physical in the first half.
- The boys kept their composure and in the second half were able to break away with superior basketball skills offensively and resolute defense that made the opposition uncomfortable at all times.
- Every player in the team played their part in what ended up being a comfortable win.
- A fantastic spread of scoring with 4 players getting over 15 points: Jay Hazell 24; Cuba Brian 20; Ethan Wood-Hill 19; andJack Ryder 18 points.
- Special mention goes to Hamish Gibson who was given the task of guarding the Suns main offensive weapon, which he did well whilst also running our offense with poise.
- The entire team looks great heading into the final two rounds of the season, Sunday was the first time in the entire season that we had our starting 10.
