About the competition

The Perth Redbacks Domestic Competition caters to junior basketball players who are in Year 3 through to Year 12 at school.

The competition is played across three venues:

  • Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre
  • The Leisurelife Centre – Vic Park
  • Loftus Recreation Centre

All players born 1/7/2006 to 30/6/2016 are welcome to join a team via one of our affiliated clubs.

The competition is graded to ensure that all levels of players, from beginner through to WABL/junior elite, can compete against similarly able teams/players each week.

Current competition – Summer Domestic 2024/2025

The 2024/2025 Summer Domestic competition runs in Term 4 of 2024 and Term 1 of 2025.

Next competition – Winter Domestic 2025

The Winter Domestic competition starts in Term 2 of 2025. If you want to find a team for your child, you need to reach out to our domestic clubs below.

Other information

WABL Cap Rule for All Division 1 Competitions

Teams are restricted to no more than five (5) Western Australian Basketball League (WABL) players with a maximum of three (3) Division 1 players from the most recent WABL season.

Domestic requirement for WABL players

2024 Perth Redbacks WABL players must have played in the 2024 Winter Domestic season or be registered for the 2024/2025 Summer Domestic season to be eligible to trial for our 2025 WABL program (trials are held in October 2024).

2025 Perth Redbacks WABL players MUST play in either the 2024/2025 Summer Domestic season or the 2025 Winter Domestic season.
