- The girls played really well today. They used their speed to their advantage and are starting to show individual improvement, which is helping us perform better as a team.
- All the girls contributed strongly, and I’d like to give them all a shoutout for their hard work.

Lost against Binar 43-49
Coach comments
- Both teams played a great game with strong teamwork throughout. Binar went into halftime with a 2 point lead, and we went into the fourth quarter up by 2. The game then opened up in the fourth, with both teams fighting hard, and regulation ending 42-42.
- We played the fourth quarter the way we wanted and generated plenty of good shot attempts that we weren’t able to convert, but we are happy we got the shots we wanted.
- Despite a strong defensive performance from us, Binar were able to finish through contact and, to their credit, hit some big shots over solid defence to close it out in overtime.
- Really proud of the girls’ development and effort in this game.
- Wanda Power anchored our defence again and helped us control the middle third of the floor both defensively and offensively advancing the ball. We missed her after she fouled out late in the fourth.
- Alannah Murphy got aggressive in the paint contesting for rebounds, disrupting shots with her length and making good decisions offensively.
- Irish Gething exploded offensively and if she got an elbow catch she was almost unstoppable driving and finishing at the rim. With some big defensive plays showing growth in that area, we are excited for her development.

Lost against Lakeside 33-80
Coach comments
- A tough game today wherein we trailed at every quarter to Lakeside’s speed, keyway prowess & strong defence. However, winning doesn’t always mean being first . . . winning means we are doing better than we have before! Today we did just that with our team strength being that we did not fail, we learnt 100 ways that things didn’t work and 100 ways we can improve on them!
- We focussed on our defence today, denying many Lakeside score opportunities & creating half court turnovers.
- Shining bright today was Ada Gliddon who was as quick as a shot clock countdown at both ends of the court.
- Cerah Boucher using her height to secure some difficult and important rebounds under the offensive ring showing clear strength, power and persistence.
- Our lightning in a bottle Ruby Rath seemed to be wherever the ball was.
- Great effort Redback girls in the face of a highly challenging game.

Lost against Hawks 33-16
Coach comments
- The girls had an excellent first half against Perry Lakes, keeping the score tight with them only up by 2 points.
- The second half got away from us, with Perry Lakes lifting the pace of the game and scoring through rebounds and second chance opportunities.
- Unfortunately, we were missing two players this week, and with a full team we would be more than capable of winning.
- This week we challenged the girls to move the ball up the court through passing rather than dribbling the full length, and they responded well. They worked as a team, communicated effectively, and held each other accountable while working towards the same goal.
- Clara did really well taking on feedback given at timeouts and half time, applying it immediately into the game and contributing on both offence and defence.
- Gwyn’s main role this weekend was to bring the ball up the court, and she did a great job facilitating passes and finding open teammates to move the ball up the floor quickly.

Lost against Cougars 68-65
Coach comments
- This was one of those games that showed just how much our group has grown. We came out with great energy and execution, moving the ball well and taking an early lead.
- Everyone contributed, and our defensive intensity created plenty of opportunities at the other end. At quarter time we held a 19-16 lead, and even though Cockburn closed the gap before halftime, we still took a deserved 31-29 advantage into the main break.
- The third quarter was probably our best basketball of the game. We shared the scoring, defended with purpose, and stretched the lead to seven points.
- Cayden was outstanding offensively, Hudson knocked down some huge shots, and we continued to play the style of basketball we’ve been working towards all season.
- Heading into the final quarter with a 51-46 lead against one of the competition’s strongest teams was a great reward for the effort the boys had put in.
- Unfortunately, the last quarter got away from us. Cockburn’s experience showed as they lifted their defensive pressure and capitalised on a few of our mistakes. They went on a strong run to take the lead, and despite our boys refusing to give in, we couldn’t quite claw it back. The fight at the end summed up this team perfectly, with Cayden and Quinn helping us close the margin before Cockburn eventually secured the 68-65 win.
- We matched one of the top teams for three quarters and showed that when we trust each other, defend hard and move the ball, we can compete with anyone.
- We’ll learn from those final few minutes, but if we continue to play with this level of effort and togetherness, the results will keep coming. This performance was another big step forward for our group.
- Cayden Wedge led the way with an outstanding all-round performance, finishing with 26 points, including four three-pointers, while adding 7 rebounds and 8 steals. He scored in a variety of ways, hitting big shots from outside and attacking the basket with confidence. Defensively, his relentless pressure created turnovers and extra possessions that kept us in the contest.
- Quinn Connell put together a composed performance, finishing with 11 points, including 2-from-2 from beyond the arc, while adding 4 rebounds. He made the most of his scoring opportunities, knocked down his outside shots with confidence, and looked after the ball exceptionally well throughout the game. Quinn’s smart decision making and efficient play were a valuable contribution to the team’s performance.

- We are seeing a trend of slow starts to our games, only finding our feet later and starting to push back too late.
- The boys put in a great effort in the second half after adjusting to their opposition, with increased pressure, particularly in the front court one on one, proving effective and driving us to win the fourth quarter.
- Lennox Baljic scored a WABL high 17 points on very effective shooting. He was able to punish a team that was defensively slow and create opportunities for both himself and his teammates whenever possible. Keep up the good work Lenny.
- Alex Rodic controlled the ball well on offense, managing the game’s tempo and making those around him play great basketball. He was not beaten on defense, and his effort on both ends of the court, along with the energy he brings, is key to the team.

- Another great win for the girls. We changed up our defence for the whole game and the girls adapted to the new style really well.
- Offensively, we tried to take advantage of not having a shot clock by slowing the ball down and moving it around the 3 point line. At times it got a bit chaotic, but for the most part we stayed controlled and executed well.
- Rose Bacci had a great offensive game, being aggressive and shooting the ball when open. She finished with 12 points.
- Oceana Williams saw herself in foul trouble for the first 3 quarters however she played the whole fourth and executed really well. She did a good job staying engaged despite sitting for most of the first 3 quarters.
- Kate McKern is growing each week. Her ability to read the play and be in the line for steals is amazing.
- Darcey Hill did a fantastic job in her new defensive role. Anticipating where the next pass was going to go and being there ready to play defence.

Coach comments
- We had a fantastic game. It took us a few turnovers from poor passing and decision making to realise that Hawks were capitalising on our turnovers.
- Once we started having some more patience and looking after the ball, we dominated offensively and were able to run the floor really well.
- Isabella had a dominant scoring game. She top scored for both teams with 18 points. All within the paint.
- Jade hit two consecutive and crucial 3s to cement our lead. Once she fine tuned her passing, the game really opened up for her and she carved her way down the floor.
- Anya did an amazing job to keep spacing and made it easier for her team mates to see the open spaces. Her defense on the ball was great, continuing to push sideline/baseline.

- Extremely proud of the team and the effort they played with for the entire game.
- The girls have been working hard at training to improve their fundamentals and overall gameplay. I was especially happy to see them execute some of the things we’ve been working on over the past week. Keep up the great work team.
- Zoe Kut played some great defense through the first three quarters, but I asked for more and during the last quarter Zoe was exceptional.
- To our Big’s well done for battling on the glass all game.
- To our Guards I am proud of the way you handled the full court pressure throughout the game.

- Professional win by the boys, coming from 5 down at three quarter time to finish with a 24-8 final quarter and seal the win.
- We had a lesson in patience and trusting that taking good shots over the course of 32 minutes will be rewarded, and eventually the rings started to play the game for us!
- Eli D sparked the team with some efficient shooting in the second half and ended up an elite 3 for 3 for 3. He also showed a couple of great reads off the dribble drive and led the team with 13 points.
- Harry F has decided that rebounds are as important as shooting 3s and led the team with 8 points and made sure the coach was aware post game. I hope to see 8 every game for the rest of the season.
- Noah M led the team with a solid +26 and his toughness will be an asset to the team in the 2nd half of the season.
- Maz T was also on court when the team was making its runs and showed he is an elite defender at this level, and took good shots all game.

- We played well in the first quarter, then disappeared for two quarters and came back from 21 points down to win by 5, a 26 point swing.
- A great effort to get the win, but there are still some areas to address around maintaining focus throughout games.
- In what was an amazing final quarter, we seemed to get better and better all the way through that quarter.
- Lance Alfred Dela Vega played the quarter of his life so far, nailing three 3-pointers and only missing 2 shots in the fourth scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter. Lance also dominated defensively, four key steals in the midcourt to get him easy points to keep us in it. I don’t think I will ever see a performance as good as this in one quarter ever again, but I hope to see Lance try to emulate this performance going forward.
- Quinn Gomm was aggressive all game, and in the final quarter increased his pressure even more to help force turnovers for us and work us back within single digits against Cockburn. His calmness entering the final minutes was also good to see, no mistakes made and drew the final two fouls of the game, hitting his free throws to put Cockburn away.

Coach comments
- We started the game hot, with the ball moving early and at pace, which meant every fast break resulted in a basket.
- We won the first quarter by 9, giving us a cushion, as we then struggled across the next two quarters, losing both by a few points each.
- I thought the boys showed good composure in the fourth quarter to pull away and win in the tight late game situations.
- Levi: 25 points, including 3 three-pointers. Strong scoring impact throughout, with excellent shot-making, particularly from beyond the arc.
- Finn had strong physical offensive rebounding, including a key putback off a missed free throw to help seal the game. High energy and a strong motor on the defensive end and even more active on the glass, generating plenty of second chance points.
- Zac despite early foul trouble (2 fouls in the opening 4 minutes and 4 fouls before the end of the third quarter), he showed great composure. When Elliot went out after getting hit in the face, Zac continued to compete, and defended at a high level without picking up his fifth foul, showing real maturity.

- Great first half, team played together and competed for each other.
- Second half we slowed down and lost a bit of our intensity, which cost us the chance to finish it off.

- There was increased defensive intensity in this game, with scoring challenging for both teams, and our shots were a bit frantic in Q1 as the Wolves edged ahead.
- An adjusted defensive strategy in the second half saw us claim 75% of the rebounds, allowing us to claw our way back and win the second half 20-16. We had a nice final chance on the buzzer that rimmed out, a brave effort.
- Georgie Clarke played with a smooth tempo and enjoyed 14 points, and started to generate some good offensive combos with her teammates.
- Sachi Ti’en played really well and showcased some well-practiced post moves and really reliable finishing inside.
- Maia Leckey had some great high speed moments pushing the tempo at some key moments.

Won against Raiders 81-41
Coach comments
- It was a cold early start, but our team play this week was on fire.
- Defensively, the players showed great discipline in applying team principles throughout the game, making it difficult for the Raiders to get clean looks at the basket.
- Offensively, the players transitioned well out of our stops to generate buckets on the break. When the break wasn’t on, I was impressed with their patience and trust in one another to create good scoring opportunities. More consistent finishing of the opportunities generated (season high near 50% for the team) helped propel us to our highest score of the season.
- The team play and whole of squad contribution we enjoy seeing from this group was on full display, with 5 of our 9 players finishing in double figures and every player scoring, as well as contributing at least 1 assist and 1 steal in the match.
- Eva Blyth has been extraordinarily consistent this season. She rarely gets beaten defensively and shows remarkable poise and decision making both on and off the ball offensively, consistently finishing at a high level of efficiency. This week, she added 5 assists as her teammates capitalised on her creativity, along with 4 steals and an impressive 9 rebounds, while only committing 2 turnovers. Making this week’s output one to be proud of.
- Audrey Toussaint continues to impress with her running power every week and is always safe with the ball in hand, as well as creative with her passing, making her an important contributor, and this week was no exception. Some nice inside finishes, as she took the ball into the paint, were really pleasing to watch.
- Sally Dowling has an impact whenever she’s on the court, playing with absolute commitment to be disruptive defensively, and both safe and creative offensively. This week she recorded 3 assists while again having zero turnovers, but beyond her statistical contribution, her communication is highly valued by teammates and noticeable from the sidelines, as she helps lift those around her.

- After losing to Cockburn by 60 points at the Cockburn Cup before the season started, we labelled our Round 8 clash against them the “redemption game” all the way back in Week 1.
- The timing was perfect. Eight rounds later, after seven weeks of development, learning and hard work, we finally had the opportunity to see just how much we had improved against the benchmark team in our division. It’s not often you come away from a loss feeling extremely happy, but that’s exactly how I felt.
- While Cockburn ultimately secured the win, we pushed the unbeaten division leaders all the way and had them under genuine pressure before they pulled away in the final few minutes.
- Darcy Brian led the way with an outstanding all-round performance. She attacked the basket with more confidence than I’ve ever seen from her, constantly putting pressure on the defense and earning trips to the free-throw line. She finished with 16 points and calmly knocked down 4 of her 5 free throws. She also contributed 5 rebounds, 4 deflections and a steal while taking on some tough defensive assignments throughout the game.
- Bianca Bajin was equally impressive, battling hard against super physical opponents. Her toughness and competitiveness were on full display as she finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, 7 deflections and 7 steals.
- Sierra was also instrumental in helping us match Cockburn’s size and physicality. Her 9 rebounds were crucial, particularly when the game was in the balance, while she also added a block, 2 deflections and 4 really important steals.
- The effort, intensity and resilience shown by everyone was a fantastic reflection of how much this team has grown since the start of the season.

Coach comments
- This week’s focus was on competitiveness and toughness, and the boys embraced that challenge from the opening tip.
- Facing a highly talented Willetton side, we knew it would require a genuine four-quarter effort, and our group delivered exactly that. From the outset, the boys competed with great physicality, moved the ball well, and played a selfless brand of basketball that continually put pressure on Willetton’s defence.
- Heading into the final six minutes, we had cut the margin to just seven points and had given ourselves every chance to challenge for the result.
- While Willetton’s class eventually showed in the closing stages and the margin grew late, the scoreboard didn’t fully reflect how hard-fought the contest was.
- We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and competitive spirit displayed throughout the game. It felt like a significant step forward in establishing the identity we want to play with. The growth shown by the group has us excited for what lies ahead in the second half of the season.
- Will Hemingway after a horror few weeks with little injuries and niggles he was able to get through a whole game. Will set the tone for us physically, even though his stats don’t reflect his impact, he was vital for us against bigger opponents.
- Zeke Brian and Vincent Ryder led from the front in their PG duties.
- Seb Doyle and Erik Davies battled hard all day against bigger bodies, but also impacted the play fantastically when Willetton put smaller players on them.
- Finally, a big welcome to Louis Stiles, who joined us this week for his first game of the year!

- We played well this week and had a well-deserved win. The boys lifted their 1-on-1 D and worked hard to get through screens, causing more turnovers.
- First and third were their highlight quarters, with everyone contesting everything, chasing down players, raising their physicality across both ends, working harder on rebounds and leaning on each other to lift as a team.
- Jo chased down his players, determined to contest shots from behind and hunt rebounds. He is vocal all game on and off the court and runs in to help his team mates up from the floor.
- Tom was strong on the glass and provided solid defence in the paint. He reads the game well, showing early help and consistently walling up to force opponents to finish through him, which is not easy. After offensive rebounds, he sells fakes and misdirections with good timing to get open finishes. He consistently hits his free throws.
- Kai did well with reading and taking the screen and passing to the roller. He contested passes to read turnovers and was the first to the floor on loose balls to force turnovers. His quick extra passes in O gave us open looks.
- Aiden gave up his player to step in and stop ball in transition and when his team mate caught up, peeled off to pickup the open player, maintaining awareness of opposition players. His aggressive D, fast footwork and busy hands made for some intense D. Great communication with your team mates.
- Mitch was patient in O with ball, found good gaps, whether driving hard to draw and kick or cutting to contest offensive rebounds and fight for the ball.

- Great game overall, even though it was a loss. Plenty to take away and build on.
- Darcie impressed with double digit rebounds.
- Leesh also had a solid game and contributed on both ends.
- Gabby hit some great 3s as well.

- This game highlighted the massive development of the girls both individually and as a team. Each week we’re playing with different combinations as injured players return to court. Yesterday was our first game with 10 players. The constant adjustments these girls have had to make all season shows how resilient and coachable they are.
- Our defence was really disrupting the Senators, and offensively they often had to work very hard to get the ball to the basket.
- Our ball movement is becoming much more fluid, and communication on court was great.
- Maddy McKibbon’s strength at both ends of the court was noticeable, and she ran strongly in transition, pushing the play.
- Emily Rizkalla’s movement off the ball was vital to opening the key.

- We started the game a little slowly, with our set plays not creating many quality scoring opportunities. We struggled with our passing early, which put pressure on our offensive sets and allowed our opponents to take the lead after the first quarter.
- In the second and third quarters, we began to find more composure in our style of play, which helped us execute better offensively and convert our opportunities. Our defensive intensity also lifted significantly during these periods, creating turnovers and allowing us to get out in transition and generate easier scoring chances.
- The fourth quarter was similar to the first from an offensive standpoint. We struggled to move the ball effectively, which resulted in fewer quality looks at the basket. Despite that, our effort and resilience allowed us to hold on for the win.
- Overall, it was great to come away with the victory and, more importantly, see improvement from the previous week. There are still areas we can continue to work on, but the growth shown by the group was very encouraging.
- Cale Buzzard had a great game with 29 points , 11 rebounds and 3 assists.
- Jack Saliacus finished with 9 points 11 rebounds.
- Zayde Parriman finished with 11 points 3 assists and 2 steals.

- The final result doesn’t reflect how this game went. Although we fell behind early, the boys fought back to reduce the margin to a few points and managed to keep it that way for the next three quarters.
- Some great shooting from the Joondalup guards sealed the deal for them in the last quarter.
- Great effort boys, onwards and upwards.
- James Reid again shot well from three and was instrumental in keeping us in the game.
- Max was excellent again guarding the key and containing their big, who gave us a lot of grief in the first quarter.
