Meet the Board – Paul Philpott, Domestic Director

Paul Philpott has been involved with the Perth Redbacks for almost 20 years, starting with his long-standing role as President of Manning Magic Basketball Club. Both of Paul’s sons (now 20 and 26) played WABL for the Redbacks. And Paul continues to coach U12 girls’ and boys’ teams for Manning Magic in our Domestic competition today.

After handing over the Manning Magic Presidency three years ago, Paul was recruited into the position of Domestic Director for the Perth Redbacks. He was excited to join the Board and it gave him a greater understanding of all the hard work being done by many behind the scenes while allowing him to be part of something great.

What does Paul enjoy most about being involved with the Perth Redbacks? The community and family feel more than anything else – something he gets to experience every weekend via our Domestic competition. Paul’s greatest satisfaction is seeing courts filled with people, along with seeing children, young people and their families enjoying the game of basketball.

Paul is excited about the future of the Perth Redbacks under the leadership of the current Executive who have a huge vision. He loves being involved with something BIG that will continue to greatly benefit our community.
