Sponsor Profile – Allen Physiotherapy

25 years ago our women’s SBL coach Craig Allen started SportsWise Physiotherapy – a practice that focused on sports physio. 6 months ago Craig moved to new premises in Murdoch and with that move came a new name – Allen Physiotherapy.

The name change to Allen Physiotherapy celebrated a new start at the new location and reinforced that the business will truly reflect Craig’s values and ethos with a strong goal of quality physiotherapy care in a genuinely caring family-friendly environment. Craig will continue to be the senior sports physiotherapist but the clinic will also offer a more general physiotherapy service via the addition of Jiunn Chin who brings with her a Masters degree in Clinical Physiotherapy.

As for Craig, well he’s been a physio for 30 years and has a post-graduate specialty in Sports Physiotherapy. He’s worked at the elite level of sport including World Swimming Championships, World Cup Triathlon Events as well as spending 20 years in the AFL and WAFL systems. He was with the Fremantle Dockers for almost 10 years and also served at the East Fremantle, South Fremantle and Swan Districts Football Clubs. If the 2020 SBL season goes ahead (and we have every hope it will) it will be Craig’s 25th year of involvement with the SBL as a physiotherapist and coach.

Swish Remedial Massage Therapy is a support service that works out of Allen Physiotherapy. Amy works with the Wildcats and Lynx and previously worked with Craig at the Fremantle Dockers.

Craig’s involvement with the Perth Redbacks began in 2019 when he was provided with a great opportunity to be Head Coach of our WSBL program. It was a perfect fit and the timing was right with Craig having spent a number of years in an assistant role and coaching a number of state teams. The culture and direction of the board at Redbacks made our club the ideal choice.

Craig’s sponsorship of the club is very much to support the direction of our programs and the values of the club. He strongly believes the growth and development of our programs are important but need support. He saw our club make big steps in that regard in 2019 and is backing us to make even bigger steps in the right direction in 2020. He believes you only need to look at our WSBL program and the quality and character of the players in that group this year to see the future direction of a program that will grow and support our junior development and pathways into the future.

Allen Physiotherapy offers a 10% discount on all physiotherapy services to all Redbacks players and members.
